What happens during a session?
Choose something specific to work on before starting: read a section, outline an assignment, or finish a small piece of work. Pick a duration that fits that task and select the distracting apps you want protected. Keep any tools needed for the task available.
The timer gives the session an endpoint. App blocking adds a boundary around your selected distractions, depending on your operating system and granted permissions. The pet gives you something to return to when the session is finished.
How focus turns into care
Completed focus sessions earn food that you can use to feed your companion. Feeding is a separate action, so finishing a timer does not automatically feed Bubble. Open the app after the session to collect and use the reward.
Treat the companion as part of a routine you enjoy. A virtual pet does not guarantee better concentration or replace the work of choosing a task, setting a boundary, and adjusting a plan that is not working.
Timer, app blocker, and companion: three different jobs
A timer answers when the session ends. An app blocker controls the selected distractions. The companion adds an activity to the end of your session. Check which of these you actually need rather than choosing an app only because you like its artwork.
For a first attempt, choose a short task you can finish. Review whether the block list let you work, whether the duration felt manageable, and whether caring for the companion made you want to return. Adjust one thing for the next session.
Do you need NFC hardware or a subscription?
You can start a session inside Furmily without an NFC tag. Tap to Focus is an optional way to open a configured focus experience. A compatible device and writable tag are required for writing tags; check current support instructions before buying hardware.
